Sept. 14, 6:00 PM - Shauna Marshall and her band, Nuclear Blonde
A night of fun with recording artists and featured musicians at Napa City Nights and Porchfest. From the Heart of the Napa Valley, Shauna Marshall dishes up original, soulful and savory lyrics over smokin' hot blues, rock and pop melodies with sax sultan Stewart Viets, rhythm doctor Steve Della Maggiora, and the tasty guitar of Manabu Okuhara…all set to the beat of Steve Trovao’s Drums.
Helen Mead will be opening, then joining the band for some harmonies and rhythm guitar. Having been a world traveler, troubadour at Colonial Williamsburg Virginia, guitarist and vocalist in blues, jazz, country, and folk groupsincluding The Heartbeats, Helen Mead has been playing solo and duo in the Napa and Sonoma Valleys for the past 2 decades as an Entertainer and an Adult Ed Music Teacher.
Each year the Napa Valley Center for Spiritual Living holds concerts to benefit special projects that promote inclusion, empowerment, equality, and community in Napa Valley. This year the ‘Unbottled’ Series will benefit the NVCSL Music Ministry and our online outreach including classes and streaming Sunday Service Programs in both English and Spanish. Guests can bring a wine picnic and/or portable chairs. There will be some chairs available at the venue.
The theme this year for ‘Unbottled’ is “A Grand Rising” as the benefit encourages everybody to rise about our differences and come together to find our common ground. And to find ways the world works of all of us: all genders, races, cultures, faiths, and orientations.
‘Unbottled’ began in 2020 as a LIVE STREAM CONCERT, when a global pandemic swept into our lives, shaking us out of our comfort zones. Collectively, we grieved the world we once knew, questioning how this experience would shape the world to come. The social distance provided an opportunity to reflect, go within and develop new interests and hobbies. With all of these lessons learned and wisdom gained, we now have the opportunity to collectively participate in a grand rising.
‘Unbottled’ celebrates the freedom to shake off the years that have come before and step into our greatness. The events are free, but donations both online and in person are accepted. Visit Unbottled.Live for the latest concert information.
